The marriage had been
five months and Chiwa managed to adapt with the current situation. Even though
she was the president’s wife, she was not restricted in doing her things. She
still hung around with her colleagues after work, being the flower arrangement instructor
and being herself in the apartment. She was one of the busiest girls. However,
at the same time, Hokuto would always tease her. One day, Mdm. Mamiya went to
the office and Chiwa was being called.
“Chiwa-chan, it has
been a while,” Mdm. Mamiya said as she hugged her.
“M-o-t-h-e-r,” she
mumbled.
“How are both of
you?”
“We are doing fine,” Hokuto answered.
Mdm. Mamiya smiled.
Then, she gave two tickets to Ume Beach Resort.
“This is my honeymoon
gift to you. Everything has been arranged and all you have to do is to enjoy
your honeymoon. The flight is tomorrow”
Chiwa’s eyes wide open.
“There is no need for
this, mother,” she refused.
“Why not? Both of you
are husband and wife and you haven’t go for honeymoon due to Hokuto’s urgent
meetings in Europe. Now, he is free from any projects so grab this chance, you
both. Hokuto, my son, take care of Chiwa-chan, okay?”
“But-.” Chiwa said.
Then, Hokuto hold her
hand. She looked at him. She forgot that the president’s mother was sick. In
the end she shut her mouth and nodded. After few discussions, Mdm. Mamiya left.
They flew to the island on the next day and check-in at the resort. It was a
very beautiful island. They went to the room where they were supposed to stay.
“What am I supposed
to do?” Chiwa mumbled as she stared at the bed.
Hokuto looked at her.
“Are you scared that
we share the same bed?” he asked.
“I can sleep there,” Chiwa answered as she pointed at the sofa and put her belongings there.
“Are you sure? You
might get cold since the heater is only in this area.”
“I will be fine,” Chiwa
assured even though she was not.
Hokuto smiled as he
changed his clothes in the bathroom. Chiwa watched at the beach through the
window. It was a beautiful view she had never seen. Later, they had dinner at
the restaurant. Everyone was staring at them.
“Gosh, he is
gorgeous.”
“Is that his
girlfriend?”
“No, maybe his sister.”
“I want him. Who
cares about the lady with him anyway, she’s nothing.”
Chiwa rolled her hand
under the table as she heard them. She felt so uneasy with the situation and her
mood was all gone. After that, they went back to the room. As they were on
their way back, Hokuto suddenly took her hand.
“Let’s go to the
beach,” he said and took her.
“Heh?? Oh, wait!”
The beach was more
beautiful during the night. Chiwa stared at the ocean. After a few moments, they
walked back to their room.
“Is your head cleared
already?” asked Hokuto as he dimmed the light.
“Ehm?”
“In the restaurant,
you were being criticised by the customers of your status. I can tell that you
are not comfortable with it and somehow they started to make you jealous, those
women in the restaurant.”
“Why would I-.”
Suddenly, Hokuto
grabbed her hand.
“Here’s the proof.
You are still rolling your palm.”
“That has got nothing do
to with it.”
“Heh, you are
avoiding the fact that you have fallen in love with me.”
“I’m not. We have
nothing to do with each other.”
Hokuto moved closely
to Chiwa and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips.
“Oh, this kind of
expression says that I took away your first kiss. You can’t run away from it,
you know. What’s stated on the paper has nothing to do with your feelings right
after you have signed it. You’ll going to face this more often so I can’t wait to
see what kind of expression you will make next time,” the president said as he
walked out from the room.
Chiwa stumbled on the
sofa. She touched her lips.
“Am I dreaming?” she
asked herself.
The next day, both of
them went to the next island with the rest of the tourists. As they reached at
the island, Chiwa vomited. She was not good with water transportation. She could
get sick easily and because of that the two had to stay at the cabin while they
waited for the others back from sightseeing.
“Here, drink this.
It’ll help to cool down your sea-sickness,” Hokuto said as he gave her a glass
of lemonade.
“I’m sorry,” she apologised.
“There’s no need for
you to apologise. Are you alright now?”
Chiwa did not respond. Hokuto stared at her and smiled. They went back to the resort in the evening.
Again, Chiwa vomited and feeling unwell.
“Your wife doesn’t
look well,” said one of the tourists.
“She’s not good in
handling water transportation,” Hokuto answered.
“Oh dear! She should
rest then. They say that a husband’s hand could ease his wife’s sickness by
massaging her back like this,” she told him as she showed the way of the
massage should be done and left with a smile.
Hokuto brought her
back to their room. He laid her on the bed.
“Ah, what a cute
face,” he mumbled as she was sleeping and took a shower.
“I’m sorry,” Chiwa apologised after he came to check on her.
“I’m sorry,” Chiwa apologised after he came to check on her.
“Today, I caused you
trouble one after another.”
Hokuto sat beside the
bed where she was laying. She was facing against him. The girl kept on blaming
herself for they did not enjoy the sight-seeing at the island until suddenly
she felt that someone was massaging her lower back then hugging her from behind.
“W-what are you
doing?”
“The lady before said
that a husband’s hand could ease his wife’s sickness. I will ease that sickness
of yours.”
His breathing was so
closed that Chiwa started to shiver.
“Don’t worry. I’m not
going to do anything with you. Just stay calm and rest,” he said in a low voice.
Chiwa felt calm after a
while and she soon fell asleep.
