This is a review for the fourth
episode of Noragami; very sorry for the late review though. I just came back from my parents' hometown. It's Chinese New Year holiday so we all went back to visit my grandparents. >_< Now, let's review. It starts off with Yato who is in his sleep-talk making
his Shinki cannot sleep and he kicks him from the stairs. Poor Yukine~
In the next scene, Hiyori comes to the shrine bringing some food for them. She keeps reminding him about their deal but Yato seems not listening to her as he is enjoying his food.
At the same time, Yukine complains to her the reason of his lack of sleep is because of his master’s fault. He also said something like, “Nobody wants to shake hand with you.” And he also talks closely to Hiyori’s ears and said, “Do you know? His hands are super sweaty.” This makes Yato hurts and he wants to prove them wrong. He shows them what a God is capable of… and it turns out that he shows them all the items which are believe to bring him a happy happy life~ Yare yare, Yato really believes in those kind of things even though he is a God?! It’s a scam, Yato… A scam! Of course, Yukine and Hiyori get mad and annoyed of his behaviour and they crush all the items.
Hiyori scolds him and at the same time, she also advices him to behave properly when he already has a shinki. As you know, Gods share mind and body with their shinki, therefore, a God has to act like one in front of a shinki. Later, Yato brings Yukine and Hiyori to a shrine where Kofuku Ebisu lives along with her shinki, Daikoku; a serious looking man and yes, he really takes good care of his master. Before, Yato introduces Kofuku as his girlfriend to Yukine and Hiyori. It’s a shock for both of them.Total
After Daikoku kicks Yato for a certain
reason, Kofuku starts to tease Hiyori. She also warns Yukine to be careful of
Yato. The shinki is somehow confused and Kofuku tells him that Yato is actually
not like what he is now, he is a scary God. The three of them later leave after
Yato receives a call from someone. It’s from a guy who accidentally dialed his
number. The real thing is that this guy wants to commit suicide by jumping off from
a high building. And by accident as well, Yato pushes him as they arrive. This
part later is way too awkward because Yato, Yukine, Hiyori and the guy are
having their conversation while falling down, against the gravity. It’s a long
long conversation… How on earth…? O,o Of course, anything is possible in anime…
^,^ The guy is a kanemochi who is in love with a girl he met on the street. He
becomes bankrupt after meeting her but because he loves her so much he wants
her to have a happy life. And to everyone’s surprise, the girl is Kofuku.
Yato at last reveals that Kofuku is
Bimbogami. She brings bad-luck to human who is in-contact with her. In the end,
he cuts the ties between Kofuku and the guy using Yukine. The three of them get
back to Kofuku’s place and Daikoku apologies for what his master has done by
giving 5 yen to Yato.
Hiyori wants to re-confirm what she
heard about Yato from Kofuku once more. The truth about Yato she knows later is
that he had killed a shinki long time ago and he did kill people in the past
because he is a God of War. She even asks Yato the reason he brought her to
meet Kofuku and Daikoku. As he puts his arm on her shoulder, Yato advices her
to see them if something happens to him one day. Blushing, Hiyori replies and
she finds how sweet Yato’s scent is. Oh my~!! Despite that his shinki tells
that he reeks of sweat so on… no wonder the ayakashi are chasing after him.
Hah! Once again, Nora appears in the last scene of this episode.
This time, the story is giving us some hint about the previous life of Yato and introduction of another new characters. The new characters I have mentioned before in my previous review so I’m not going to introduce them again. I could see clearly what a beautiful pair of blue eyes Yato has in this episode. The heck.. =,=” The graphic style is more on the traditional side. You could see the interior of a traditional Japanese house (where Kofuku and Daikoku live) and the shrine where Yato and Yukine are having their lunch with Hiyori. Oh well, as the anime itself is about Japanese Kami so it is going to be more on the so-called traditional. Hummuh hummuh~ This episode, too, makes me curious about Yato’s past and the character of Nora. Who is Yato? I know he’s a God, God of War he is, but who is he, really?? WHO?? And Nora? Who is this shinki? Why is she following Yato and Yukine? Watching them from far and then, suddenly approaching Yukine without… I don’t know… Saying “Hi!” perhaps?? O.O She’s being a little rude?? And scary, maybe… IDK… I haven’t read the manga yet so I do not know the very detail of each character and I’m reviewing based on the anime. Apologies here… m-,-m I will try to post my review on the 5th episode once I finish watching it. *fingers cross* Once again, very sorry for the late review for the 4th episode. =,=" Cheers!
