It was weekend and Chiwa decided to have some
free time for herself. She woke up as usual and made breakfast for herself and Hokuto. Once she finished making the breakfast, she realised that Hokuto was not
at home since yesterday. She gently knocked her head.
“I’ll just put them
in the refrigerator,” she said.
Lately, Hokuto did not
came back home. He was very busy with his work and Chiwa herself seldom met him
in the office. He would always move from one place to another for meetings.
“Chiwa, are you listening?”
asked Hana.
They were going out
for shopping with Aya and Jun.
“Ah, I’m sorry. What
is it?”
“Mo~ what happen to
you today? I say why don’t we go for a vacation?”
“Vacation?”
“Yes.”
“That sounds nice but
I’ll pass this time.”
“Heh? Why?” Jun asked.
“You will never get a
man if you are like this you know,” Aya said.
“I don’t need one
anymore,” the girl replied.
Her friends were
shocked listening to her answer. The reason was that she had enough vacation
during her honeymoon. She looked around and saw Kaname. He was talking with
someone when he as well saw her and waved at her. She waved back.
“Isn’t that Kaname-kun?”
asked Aya.
Chiwa nodded. Kaname walked toward them.
“What a surprise to
meet you here,” he said.
Aya and Hana stared
at him.
“What a handsome
guy~,” they said.
Everyone chuckled.
“Chiwa, we have to go
first. There’s something we have to do,” Hana said and the three of them
quickly walked away.
Chiwa sighed.
“It was you guys who
wanted to go out and yet leaving me behind,” she mumbled.
“Then, would you like
to go out with me instead? Besides, I have some free time. That if you don’t
mind at all,” Kaname suggested.
At last, the girl
went out with him.
“The other day you
suddenly went off during the show and Mrs. Souma told me that you are rushing to
see someone who is really important. From the way I see it, that person must be
your beloved,” Kaname said.
Chiwa slowly nodded.
“But he’s not someone
I can called my beloved,” she mumbled as she blushed.
Kaname chuckled. They
walked around the place together.
“Does your man always
bring you out?” he asked her out of sudden when the two went to have a drink
at the restaurant.
Chiwa almost burst her
tea.
“Well, he is a very
busy person so he,” the girl answered half way when she recalled back about her life
with Hokuto.
Of course they never
went out together since both were just husband and wife on paper. Hokuto was the
president of the company where she worked and thanks to his mother, who was a
closed friend of her mother, the debts were all settled. When a question asked
where feelings involved, she had no idea how to answer. Kaname was waiting for her
answer.
“Ahaha~ he is very
busy so he never has the chance to bring me out.”
“What kind of man is
he?”
“He’s a… he’s a man
who is mysterious. He would always leave me speechless and at the same time
making me confused.”
Chiwa was smiling that she herself did not realised it.
Chiwa was smiling that she herself did not realised it.
“You must be really in
love with him,” said Kaname.
Chiwa looked at him. He
smiled.
“Way back, I hardly
saw that smile of yours. He’s a lucky guy after all, to have you by his side,”
he said.
It was an awkward
conversation but she had a great time with him. When she went back home, it was
already night. As she opened the door, the light was on and from there she knew
that Hokuto was home. However, she was in shock when she saw him lying on
the floor.
“President!” Chiwa
called.
He was sweating and could
hardly breathe. She touched his forehead. It was burning. The girl became
panic.
“Let’s bring you to
your room first,” she said.
The guy was indeed
heavy but she must get him to his bed and changed his clothes.
“Why do I have to do
this?” she mumbled as she shut her eyes while changing the guy’s clothes.
“I’m calling the
doctor,” she said but Hokuto grabbed her hand.
“D-don’t,” he
mumbled.
“But your fever is
really high.”
“It will be fine.”
Annoyed, Chiwa sat beside
the bed and cupped his face.
“How are you going to
take care of yourself in this condition? It will not be fine if you don’t let
the doctor to check you. You look really terrible now. This time, please listen
to me,” she told him.
Hokuto’s eyes got
bigger. He was surprised to see her action. He later sighed and let her
called Doctor Matsuda, the family’s private doctor. In few minutes, the doctor
came and examined him.
“He really had
himself worn out. What have you done to yourself, Hokuto?” said Doctor Matsuda.
“Is he going to be
alright? Does he need to take medicine?”
Doctor Matsuda turned
around to face Chiwa. The girl’s worried expression made the doctor smiled.
“What he needs right
now is a full rest. He needs to eat something as well to revive his energy. If
possible, don’t let him go to work tomorrow. Make sure this guy doesn't overwork himself again. Can you do that?”
Chiwa nodded. After
giving her a few more descriptions, Doctor Matsuda left.
“She is indeed perfect
for him,” he mumbled as he walked to his car.
Chiwa quickly made some
food for Hokuto and made sure he ate them. However, the president was a stubborn
person. He refused to eat.
“If you’re not
eating, I’m not going to let you go to work tomorrow until your fever is down.
You got that, Mr. President?” she warned him and left the room.
Chiwa sighed as she
closed the door. After taking a shower, she went back to check up on him.
Slowly, she opened the door and found that the plate and bowl were empty. She
smiled while kneeling beside the bed looking at Hokuto who was soundly asleep.
Soon, she herself fell asleep. The next morning, when she woke up, she found herself
was on the bed. In front of her was the president. He was still sleeping and
his arms were around her that made her felt his warmth. Chiwa was surprised.
“What happened?” she
whispered.
She tried to move but
her so-called husband set his arms firmly around her. Chiwa stared at him. She
never knew that this guy had a fair and perfect complexion. As she kept on
staring at him, the eyes were opened and they made contact with hers. It was a
beautiful pair of eyes that Chiwa was being hypnotised by them. When she
realised, her face turned red.
“G-go-good morning.
How’s your fever?” she asked.
Hokuto was still
staring at her and one of his hands took hers and put it on his forehead. It
was not burning like before.
“I’m glad that it
went down,” Chiwa said as she let out a soft sigh of relief.
She smiled. Suddenly, Hokuto pulled her even closer to him.
“P-president,” she
called when she was surprised by him.
“Thank you,” Shuei
said.
Chiwa stopped
struggling. There was a long paused from the guy.
“I’m sorry if I make
you worried the whole night but I really appreciate for what you have done.”
“I was worried. Dr.
Matsuda said you must not work over your limit. Therefore, please, don’t
overwork yourself. Well, I don’t mean to ask you to become lazy,” she said as
her voice slowly toned down when she said the last word.
Hokuto chuckled as he
adjusted his arms around Chiwa. He promised her on that as well.
