The place where Chiwa
worked as a part-timer had a public show next week. She was in charged with the
program.
“Chiwa, our sponsors
have arrived. Please meet them,” said her boss.
Chiwa walked into the
meeting room. She was surprised to see one of the sponsors. That person was
someone she knew long ago. Their eyes met. She never thought she would meet him
again.
“Shall we start?” asked
her boss.
They discussed about
the show for an hour and settled everything at once.Chiwa tried not to think
about the person anymore. She let her boss to escort them to the next room to
have a drink. She continued with her lesson with her students. The girl
finished her job and went back home when suddenly the guy she knew before was
waiting for her a few blocks away.
“It’s been a while, Chiwa,” he said.
“Kaname,” she mumbled.
“Can we have a little
chat?” he requested.
Chiwa bit her lips. She
later nodded and both went to the nearest restaurant. She felt so awkward that
she always looked at her watch.
“Do you have
something urgent to do?” Sho asked.
Chiwa looked at him and
shook her head.
“How are you?” he
asked gently.
“I’m doing fine.”
““You look really
different from the time we were in the university. You look pretty and
outstanding now,” Sho told her.
“Kaname, please,” Mia
said.
“You are really
here,” he said.
Chiwa bit her lips. The
tone was different.
“Since you left the
university out of sudden, I was frustrated. You were just... disappeared.”
“I was wondering what
you are doing now since the manager told me that you are just a part-timer,”
the guy said.
“I work at the Mamiya
Company,” she told him.
“That company is
really famous and well-known. I never thought they allow you to do a part time
job.”
Chiwa did not answer.
She did not know how to tell him that because of her marriage with her
president she was able to keep her part-time job. Soon, they left the
restaurant.
“You are becoming my
partner for the program. It means that we will be seeing each other more often
after this. So, I hope you cope with me. See you,” he said and went off.
Chiwa watched his back.
She touched her chest. It suddenly pained her.
“Why do you suddenly
appear?” she mumbled.
Chiwa was at the living
room with the television was on. In other words, the television was the one who was
watching her. A lot of things playing inside her head until she did not realise
that Hokuto was there.
“You know, if you
keep staring off like that, I will kiss you,” he said.
Chiwa was surprised.
She blushed. She looked at him. With his suits was still on, he probably
just came back from work.
“Welcome back,” she
said.
“You’ve been like
this since yesterday,” he told her.
Chiwa turned off the
television.
“Kaname Asahina,” Hokuto said.
Chiwa became alert. She
was surprised to hear the name coming out from her so-called husband.
“He’s one of the
sponsorships where you work, am I right?”
“Y-yes.”
“He loves flower arrangement
and he was your senior at the university. Is that why you’re working in the
flower arrangement school as your part time job?”
Chiwa became surprised
even more. It looked like Hokuto knew about Kaname and her and their previous relationship. It was
indeed Kaname was her senior and he loved flower arrangement. Back in the
university, Chiwa was very popular with her creativity in arranging the flowers.
She attracted many attentions from the lecturers and the students. She even
beat the number one flower arrangement student, Kaname Asahina. That was how the
two met. They went out together and getting closed. One day, Kaname proposed her
to be his girlfriend. However, from the day they were couple, both never kissed
each other. Not to say sleeping with each other. Suddenly, Chiwa had a big crisis
with her family. Her father suddenly left her with a huge amount of debts and
she had to pay back all without no excuses. The girl left the university once
she graduated as well as the place she used to live. She left Kaname without
saying goodbye or left any messages. Right after she left, she heard that he was engaged with a girl whom his parents had arranged to marry with. Five years
had passed and now, she was married with her president.
“You investigated all
about my life, didn’t you? You don’t have any rights on that!” Chiwa blurted.
“What?! You-,” Hokuto
said in a high tone.
“Don’t interfere with
my life! You have nothing to do with it and I am not a puppet you can control,” Chiwa cut him and ran to her room.
This time Hokuto was
the one who surprised. He rolled his palm and hit the sofa.
“Of course you are
not my puppet,” he said.
Chiwa did not talk with Hokuto since then until the public show day arrived. Before the event, she went to meet the
sponsors frequently to assure on their corporation. She met with Kaname almost
every day. Her colleagues were all attending the show including Mrs. Souma. The girl actually
wanted to invite Hokuto but she herself was not sure about it. Besides, he
was away for the upcoming project the company was about to do.
“The president is not
coming. How sad,” Aya said.
“Yeah, despite that
he knew that one of his workers involved in this show,” Hana added.
“Girls, even though
the president knows about this, still it is not right for the worker takes
another job. It is forbidden,” Mrs. Nagisa told them.
“Yes, yes. Chiwa-chan
is special case though but he did send Mrs. Souma to come,” Jun agreed.
Chiwa could only smile.
They only knew about one part of the situation. Mrs. Souma approached her.
“Mr. President is
sure wanted to come over to see his wife’s art,” she told her.
Chiwa bit her lips.
“He is trying to
protect what belongs to him. Before both of you signed the marriage form, he
already has the details about Chiwa. The past and the present,” she said.
“That is why he knows
about you and Kaname Asahina. “
“You also knew about
this?” Chiwa asked.
Mrs. Souma nodded.
“He didn’t mean to
control you or anything. That is how Mr. President is. Of course, he doesn’t
know how to tell you. Really, he is still a little chicken,” the middle aged woman who was Hokuto's secretary said as she chuckled.
By that time only Chiw
realised that she was the one who was at fault. Then, Kaname came to greet her but Chiwa excused herself leaving that guy with Mrs. Souma. She apologised to her manager
and she let her go after Chiwa explained everything. She managed to get the last
train to the place where Hokuto had the meeting. She rushed to the counter to
ask about the meeting. Unfortunately, she was not on time seeing him for the
meeting was ended. It seemed like it was her unlucky day. She was caught in the
rain, too. Chiwa felt really guilty. She waited at the train station. It was
indeed cold when it was about to turn dark. The rain soon stopped but her
clothes were still wet. There were few people walking around the station.
“What do you think
you are doing?” suddenly a voice asked.
“President!” Chiwa said
as she looked up and started to sneeze.
Hokuto let out a sigh then took off his
jacket and put it on her.
“Let’s go,” he said.
He took her back to
the hotel and they stayed for a night there. Chiwa took a warm bath and since her
clothes were sent for drying, she put on the bathrobe. Hokuto was sitting on the
sofa waiting for her. Chiwa did not dare to look at him.
“Mrs. Souma told me that
you went off in the middle of the event,” he started the conversation.
The girl nodded.
“I’m sorry. I was at
fault. I was mad at you without thinking back then,” she apologised.
“Please forgive me,”
she said again and her face was blushing and she was not comfortable in the
bathrobe.
Hokuto looked at her.
Then, he walked toward the girl. Chiwa moved back and she fell on the bed. The
guy went on top of her making the bed creaked. Their faces were so closed.
“Remember that even
though our marriage is only for a period of time, you are belong to me and I to
you.”
“President?”
“Don’t get near to
any man and trust only me,” he said softly as he touched her lips with his
finger.
Chiwa’s heart suddenly
pounded very fast. She never felt like
this before. Not even when she was with Kaname. She looked into Hokuto’s eyes. They
were so warm and it was indeed beautiful. The president could not constraint
himself that he started to give her a mark on her neck. Chiwa could felt the
warmth of his lips.
“When are you going
to realise it, you slow-headed girl?” he whispered and moved back to the sofa.
“You should rest now.
You must’ve been tired the whole day,” he said.
Chiwa became speechless
and she quickly turned away so that he did not see her blushing face while her
hands covering the mark given by him.
“I’m really sorry for
troubling you,” she mumbled and soon fell asleep.
Hokuto stared at the
girl’s back.
“What was I
thinking?” he mumbled after recalling back what he had done to Mia.
