Noragami: The 3rd Review

Another review on Noragami *hands clap!* This time is about hunting down the monster that persuades human to do something bad like - suicide… Yes, how cruel ayakashi is~ The story starts with Yato and Yukine in a - I would say a recycle store; to find a more suitable clothes for Yukine. Yato gives a jersey with a bear-like design to him but Yukine rejects it due to the lame design. Ahaha~
After finding the clothes, both of them go to the back of a café to find some food to eat where Yato can only find some fish; a small one and again, Yukine refuses his offer. Instead, a stray cat comes and snatches away the fish but Yato manages to get it back. However, it doesn’t end with the cat runs away. It comes back for revenge and scratches Yato from behind. LOL!

The two meet Hiyori in the café and have their meals. They sure are very hungry and Hiyori just watches them eating. Nom nom nom~ ^_^

Yato explains to Hiyori the reason why their existence sometimes can be seen by other human. After having such a wonderful meal, Yato receives a call from someone and he brings along Yukine with him. Hiyori is also with them by accident when she transforms into her other self and they arrive in a shrine which belongs to an infamous God.

This part is hilarious; Yato really suffers in his reputation as a God when Yukine and Hiyori start to compare his status with the God’s status whom they just met.

The reason the God calls Yato is because he requests him to hunt down the evil monster that recently has taken lots of students’ life near a crossing line where trains pass by. What triggers this is the wishing that the students made in their wish plaque. Yato refuses to do it when they reach at the station but Mayu (previously known as Tomone) reminds him that her Master has paid him in advance and Hiyori seems a little hurt by his words. She jumps off to search the monster by herself but ends up being pushed by a group of them into the railway. Luckily, Yato saves her with Yukine in his sword form, Setsu. He also reminds her about her precious tail. Together, they manage to hunt down the evil monster which at that time, tries to persuade a student who failed his exam to cross over while a train is about to passing by. Geez… that’s what I’m trying to tell before.

And, Hiyori finally understands Yato’s words. Later at night, Yukine cannot sleep because of the cold weather. Then, Yato throws him the jersey they found during the day and orders him to wear it as it will help to warm him up a little. He even tells Yukine that he had done pretty well for his very first job. =) Yato-san, sore wa yasashii desu~ X) Btw, the word on the jersey is ‘Kapipa Rando’ (Capypa Land).

Now, let’s see who are the characters appeared this time:

Tenjin CV: Ookawa Tooru
He is the God of learning. Compared to Yato, he is a very famous one so everyone knows him. He has lots of Shinki and one of them used to be Yato’s shinki. Poor Yato~ >,< Tenjin sama knows Yato for a long time and he knows that Yato has been sleeping over in one of his shrines with his new shinki.

Mayu CV: Imai Asami
She is previously called as Tomone by Yato. She appeared in the first episode. She and Yato had a little argument in this episode when Yukine and Hiyori asked her about her past relationship with Yato. They threw some wild guess to her like “Ex-girlfriend…?” and “Ex-wife…?” that made her a little mad.

Nora CV: Kugimiya Rie
She appears in the very last screening in this episode. She will appear again in the next episode.

Yukine CV: Kaji Yuuki
I forgot to introduce the voice actor of this character in my previous review. He starts making appearance from the second episode.

The message: No matter how bad you are doing or what a failure you are, be it in your life, your studies, your work or your relationship, stay and think positive and do not take a shortcut thinking that it would be easier. Do not listen to the little voice that is whispering around you. There is always a way to overcome these problems without you taking a drastic yet stupid action in your life.
I like the soundtrack used when it comes to Yato fights the ayakashi with his shinki. It sounds really thrilling and really blends with the flow of the story. The Noragami Original Soundtrack (Noragami no Oto) should be out on February 19 in Japan.
In the next episode we are going to see the character of Kofuku (I call her the kawaii God) and Daikoku (for him I call, the serious Shinki). They are voiced by Toyosaki Aki and Ono Daisuke. You know, when there’s Kamiya, there’s also Daisuke. Yay! I just love these two seiyuus. ^_^v
